Position Overview:
  • Responsible for the submission generation, underwriting and policy issuance of various liability for entities that meet the account definition within the region.
  • Underwrite and price new and renewal business, to include financial and exposure analysis
  • Attendance at meetings with outside company management
  • Building and maintaining productive relationships with agents and brokers
  • Policy contract review and rating
  • Claims review
  • Binding of new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategy
  • Service brokers and customers
  • Coaching and developing the more junior underwriters

Required Experience:
  • 2 to 4 years of D&O insurance underwriting
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with brokers in order to successfully manage the business
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical, with a keen ability to think through issues
  • Solid understanding of financial statements
  • Strong customer-service focus
  • Able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments
  • Strong work ethic
  • Team player
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance or Accounting
