for our client in New Providence, NJ. This is a contract position located at our client's site.

Position Overview:
  • Assists in the construction, electrical wiring, repairing, assembling, disassembling and installations of equipment, parts and systems.
  • Assists in the sets up, testing and demonstrations of equipment.
  • Performs routine packing, crating, and shipping of finished items.
  • Assists in maintaining the shop, shop equipment, inventory of systems parts, quality records and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Provides customer support, troubleshooting and startup of equipment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Job Parts And Job Tasks:
    • System Design, Fabrication And Assembly:
      • Perform system layouts and wiring
      • Fabricate systems from blueprints using hand and power tools
      • Perform initial testing and troubleshooting of standard systems
      • Complete all necessary paperwork including job material sheets, and drawing revision notes
    • Equipment Shipments:
      • Select equipment from inventory for shipments
      • Perform packing and crating of items prior to shipment
      • Apply proper postage, insurance and records shipment
      • Note backordered items and completes required paperwork
    • Equipment And Parts Receiving:
      • Receive incoming items including raw materials, parts and finished
      • Equipment, enter into SAP and insures proper placement
      • Complete all necessary paperwork for equipment returns and repairs
    • Shop Organization & Equipment Maintenance:
      • Assists in maintaining the shop, machinery and tools in an orderly condition
      • Assists in maintaining the shop Quality records
      • Ensure all safety and fires code requirements are maintained
      • Perform miscellaneous duties as required
    • System Installation And Troubleshooting:
      • To assist in the installation, troubleshooting and repair new or existing systems
      • Performs the diagnosis, testing, estimating and repairing of equipment and systems in house 
    • Customer Service And Support:
      • Assist in answering questions for customers and Sales-Reps
      • Assist in processing customer or Sales-Reps equipment orders
      • Assist in sales training seminars
    • Parts Inventory And Ordering:
      • Reviews minimum balances on standard parts
      • Issue notifications when stock is at or below minimum balances
      • Perform semi-annual physical inventory.
    • Supervision:
      • Has no supervisory responsibility. Reports to Manager of Process Equipment Shop.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in equipment assembly, wiring and installation.
  • Must possess a mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to perform electrical and mechanical operations including wiring of process controllers and electrical control panels, sheet metal fabrication, assembly and disassembly operations.
  • Position requires basic computer literacy, the ability to work independently, follow assembly and wiring blueprints, perform basic mathematical calculations and communicate well with customers, sales-reps and material suppliers.
