Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Science Dr Madison, WI 53711Type: 1 year contract + extension or perm if things go well

 SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Preparation of technical documents, including batch records, protocols/procedures, and reports within the Technical Operations Department
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Serve as lead document writer for batch records, procedures, protocols/procedures, and reports
  • Communicate with management regarding the status of assignments, particularly changes of assigned work
  • Lead document review/generation meetings to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Consult with other departments to develop and optimize document format and function.
  • Coordinate and track workflows in the document control system
  • Lead report writer projects and initiatives and provide input during team meetings/ discussions
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate or required
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline, chemistry or related field is preferred
 
Experience:
  • 0-4 years industrial GMP experience
  • Science background, with experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility desired
 
Knowledge and Skills:
  • In depth knowledge of GLP/GMPs as applicable to assigned tasks
  • Strong oral and superior written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of SAFC capabilities and understanding of various divisions, departments, cGMP and other relevant quality systems with strong evidence of collaborating in a matrix environment is preferred
  • Analytical mind set
 
Job Description:
  • Experience with DocCompliance or other document control system is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large projects with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented, thorough review of work
  • Good document generation skills (drafting, revision, review)
  • Ability to perform simple and complicated tasks while not losing touch with broader objectives
  • Able to exercise judgement when changes are required, and to do so within potentially ambiguous situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral and superior written communication skills
