Team Lead / Senior Associate Actuary

This Senior Associate Actuary will be responsible for coordinating the overall workload delegated to the Actuarial Pricing – Manila "Center of Excellence”, as well as directing and supervising the work on specific support projects. This person will be responsible for communicating project status and results back to the Actuarial Pricing VPs, their teams and the Chief Pricing Actuary. Training of the Manila COE team will be an integral part of this person's duties. Periodic travel to the US will also be required. This role will report directly to the Chief Pricing Actuary.

• Direct and supervise the Manila "Center of Excellence” team in their support work, which will include but not be limited to:Rate filings in support of various pricing units
  • Price monitors and benchmark reports
  • Rating model support and testing
  • Other ad hoc actuarial pricing projects as appropriate
  • Train and develop Manila team members in the above areas, as well as in the actuarial discipline overall
  • Communicate status and results to Actuarial Management, including participation in some Actuarial Pricing Leadership meetings and periodic travel to the US
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in processes, and drive improvements through finding opportunities to increase efficiencies
  • 5+ years of US P&C experience in the actuarial field
  • Technical expertise regarding standard pricing methodologies as applicable to the responsibilities as listed above
  • Knowledge of US P&C insurance, including coverages and regulatory process
  • Solid ability to train and develop junior staff, both technically and professionally
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, team player
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and databases (SQL, etc.)Willingness and ability to travel periodically to the US

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or Operations Research
  • ACAS/FCAS preferred, but strong candidates with 4 or 5 CAS exams will be considered
