Position Overview:
  • The program encompasses architecture design, infrastructure changes, systems integration, data migration, user deployment, transition to service, Quality Assurance, Future State Design and change enablement, communications & training workstreams.
  • The SQL DBA will work as part of a team of Engineers, reporting to the Data Migration Project Manager to help develop and manage the migration of million documents from disparate legacy document management systems to the new global SaaS solution.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Reporting into the Data Migration Project Manager:
    • Develop, test and implement T-SQL queries as needed to support migration activities and in alignment with the firm's Change and Release Management standard operating procedures
    • Execute and schedule migration jobs across servers in EU, Asia and US
    • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues arising with data migration scripts
    • Provide analysis to identify and advise on data cleansing issues and optimal approach to remediated, where the recommendation is supported by detailed data analysis
    • Ensure that design specifications are produced and maintained at all times
    • Complete handover of the final deliverables to the BAU organization
 
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years prior SQL DBA experience including advanced level skills with T-SQL. 
  • Prior experience of working in support of large scale complex projects or programs, ideally with a significant data migration component
  • Has the flexibility to meet the demands of operating within a truly global team 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management and client facing abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment with aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to both team members and user, verbally and in writing.
  • Prior support of a global document management system a plus.
 

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working in a law firm environment, or alternately a similar professional service or consulting culture
