Position Overview:
  • A multi-talented, high-energy business focused technologist to assist with advancing the technology capabilities for Data Management and Reporting by managing, directing, and overseeing various project across multiple functions in client’s various business.
  • Provides visible leadership, accountability, and authority over high profile projects; works independently and exhibits a high degree of initiative in resolving problems and developing recommended solution.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of the technology strategy and manage complex project through design and implementation
  • Execute on various key initiatives and projects partnering with different teams in Technology and partners in the business
  • Actively manage stakeholders' expectations, resource alignment, and possible conflicting priorities across the projects
  • Manage vendors and coordinate system upgrades, enhancements, and fixes
  • Lead scope definition and communication sessions. Utilize negotiation skill sets to drive the project team and stakeholders to make timely decisions and deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Partner with developers and business analysts across technology to understand and document reporting and analytic needs, produce technical plans and collaborate with the development teams to implement dashboards and reports.
  • Identify best practices for optimizing system use both internally and externally
  • Review, document and improve workflow and system processes to meet and exceed business objectives
  • Partner with technical architects to ensure technical models are aligned with business models
  • Identify risks, plan for unanticipated outcomes, and form appropriate contingency plans
  • Communicate reports regarding project status, risk management and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team
  • Develop end-user training materials and deliver training to a broad user base
  • Lead efforts to build a Data Dictionary & data lineage

Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications
  • Leadership skills experience leading complex projects including multiple parties both internal and external
  • Proven track record in defining and driving data strategies
  • Experience working with data warehouses and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with fund accounting platforms (SunGard VPM, Geneva, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with security data set - Bloomberg, Rating agencies etc. is preferred
  • Advanced degree from a top university strongly desired
 
Required Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL, Excel VBA & Macro, UI Design, Reporting best practices
  • Deep understanding of capital markets
  • Understanding of the various performance measures (IRR, ROE, Yield, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial instruments. (Bank Loans, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Adept at listening and soliciting feedback from end-users and stakeholders
  • Detail & process oriented
  • Solid team player with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, faced paced environment
