Position Overview:
  • Support the drug discovery efforts in early target research and validation in a variety of solid tumor indications.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and fast paced environment to: develop and implement robust cellular assays to support target identification and validation and execute in vitro studies to further our understanding of the on-target/off-target mechanisms of lead Client compounds.

  • Target validation in a diverse range of oncology models using CRISPR or RNAi and tool compound approaches
  • Development and implementation of relevant cell-based assays to support identification, optimization, and characterization of Client chemical matter
  • Design and execution of experiments in cell biology, molecular biology, and assay development
  • Analyze and present data in an organized and timely manner, QC assay performance and assist other scientists to trouble shoot assay-related issues.
  • Create and optimize standard operating procedures and laboratory protocols.
  • Work within cross-functional working groups and support biology needs for drug discovery teams

Required Experience:
  • Experience with molecular and cell biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, transfection and viral transduction techniques (overexpression, CRISPR KO, CRISPR RNP nucleofection) is preferred.
  • Experience with stable cell line generation, cellular sub-cloning, viability and apoptosis assays, protein assays including immunoblotting and/or protein simple WES/JESS, gene expression analysis by PCR / RT-PCR is preferred.
  • Experience with target identification/validation and drug discovery processes for Client oncology targets is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills are required.
  • Data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications is expected.
  • Capability to remain focused and deliver high quality data in a timely and well-organized manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic and cross-functional team environment; flexibility to adapt to changes with a positive attitude
  • M.Sc. degree in the biological sciences with 2+ years of hands-on cell and molecular biology/industry
  • B.Sc. degree with 4+ years of hands-on cell and molecular biology/industry experience
