The Senior F&O and OTC Clearing Derivatives Analyst position is part of the Reconciliation team at client's F&O and OTC Clearing Operations Derivatives Group. The Reconciliation team performs T+1 reconciliations for all exchanges in the Americas (AMRS) markets as well as for some of our third party brokers. The Reconciliations team also reconciles and pays approximately $500 million (covering several million transactions) of Clearing, Exchange and Regulatory fees per year. This position is primarily responsible for performing T+1 reconciliations and potentially some transaction level and balance sheet reconciliations of Clearing, Exchange and Regulatory Costs. The Senior F&O and OTC Clearing Derivatives Analyst plays a key role in daily balancing and in controlling operational costs and mitigating operational risk. The position is also responsible for preparing monthly ledger account reconciliations for the fee accrual accounts and control accounts in accordance with company policy. The role provides a wide range of exposure to different areas of listed derivatives ranging from client/business queries to IT, Finance and Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • T+1 Reconciliation for assigned markets and associated client money reporting.
  • Reporting of aged balances per account reconciliations into an account reconciliation status reporting tool.
  • Completion of a monthly roll forward of the account balance for general ledger accounts including fee accrual accounts (Clearing Fees, Exchange Fees, NFA Fee), Introducing Brokers accrual accounts and control accounts. This includes updating general ledger balances, sub ledger balances and queries of sub ledger data.
  • Posting non client journals for accounts reconciled.
  • Completion of Control Account Reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a basic understanding of accounting including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must be able to work without immediate supervision and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel including creating from scratch pivot tables, vlookups and sumif formulas
  • Must have experience analyzing data
  • Must have above average analytical skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Previous Futures Operations and GMI proficiency preferred but not required
  • Previous Futures Operations experience with T+1 reconciliations but not required
  • Accounting degree or background in Futures and Options accounting preferred but not required
  • Exposure to running queries in Microsoft Access/SQL is preferred but not required
