Senior Cost Controller/Budget & Expenses

Be part of the Financial Services Industry. Eclaro is looking for a Senior Cost Controller/Budget & Expenses for our client in New York, NY.

  • Operating expense:
    • Analyze the expenses and provide detailed commentaries on a quarterly basis
    • Supervise the Hub expense team responsible for setting up accruals and other estimates
    • Facilitate the reporting process, develop templates, consolidate information, liaise with the various departments (business partners, accounting, finance, human resources, IT, office management, and group) to ensure accurate booking of expenses
    • Prepare reporting for board meetings and committees
    • Provide necessary schedules and information for the preparation of IFRS and Statutory financial statements
  • Budget / Forecast:
    • Prepare landing, forecast and projections on a quarterly basis or as required by management
    • Coordinate with management and the VPs to obtain the support necessary to establish an accurate budgeted figures and projections
    • Update the VPs on the spent versus budget, coordinate to ensure all variances are explained and approved if necessary
  • Group reporting:
    • Liaise with Parent office and provide support for ad-hoc requests
  • Internal Control:
    • Adhere to all policies and procedures to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the above
    • Assess, devise and implement processes and controls ensuring compliance with all applicable legislative, regulatory and internal requirements
  • Professional Experience:
    • Over 5 years of finance / accounting experience
    • Experience in the (re)insurance industry a plus
  • Education:
    • Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
    • Professional designations (Certified Public Accountant CPA) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) a plus
Required Skills:
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and ability to develop a collaborative relationship with all departments
  • High motivation and proven ability to management multiple priorities
  • Ability to supervise a team in the most efficient manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, Power point, Access
  • Knowledge of accounting system (SAP / BPC) a plus
  • Proficiency in French a plus
