Quantitative Analytics Senior Associate - Model Risk

Eclaro is currently recruiting for a Quantitative Analytics Senior Associate - Model Risk for one of their financial services clients in Chicago, IL. 
 
Eclaro’s client is one of the nation’s largest bank-based financial services companies with assets over $130Billion.  This position is a direct hire and will be responsible for leading a large team of UX/UI Designers in a collaborative environment.  
 
Position Overview:
  • Conduct independent validations of client's high impact models (e.g. CECL/CASTA, consumer scoring, Fraud, etc.) in compliance with regulatory and client's model validation policies and guidelines.
  • The person in this role will be viewed as a deep subject matter expert with a highly specialized skill set.
  • The position requires a strong quantitative background.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Review and challenge the conceptual framework, assumptions, technical soundness and fit-for-use of client's high impact models
  • Assess model performance through rigid statistical/quantitative analyses of the model outcomes
  • Verify the correct model implementation through review or replication
  • Assess model risks/limitations and the adequacy of model ongoing monitoring/maintenance
  • Verify the model has been properly documented
  • Document the validation procedures and results
  • Coach, develop, and mentor junior model validators
 
Qualifications:
  • PhD or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field with advanced knowledge of statistics, mathematics and financial modeling
  • 2+ years of model development or model validation experience in high impact models (e.g. CECL/CASTA, consumer scoring, Fraud, etc.)
  • 5+ years of model development or model validation experience preferred
  • 2+ years of working experience with SAS, SQL, Python, or R, with hands-on experience in developing or validating various Machine Learning (Client) algorithms for solving real-world problems in cloud environment (e.g. GCP, AWS, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in collaboration with other team members and external consulting firms
