Position Overview:
  • Individuals in this position are expected to be a multi-disciplined engineering support technical resource and may be selected to work in one or more workcenters
  • Workcenter 1: Individuals in this position are expected to be a multi-disciplined engineering support technical resource for the operation, repair, and maintenance of client’s 3D printers, and related process support equipment sets, with an emphasis on safety.
    • The primary responsibility of this individual is to work in a powder lab environment to operate client’s 3D printers, manually process printed parts, and prepare parts for data collection.
    • The secondary responsibility of this individual is to keep the equipment and work environment in a clean and presentable state.
    • The tertiary responsibility of this individual is to perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment. Some individuals may be tasked with higher level maintenance responsibilities. This role will involve working with a team in order to resolve complex technical issues using a wide variety of technical skills, including running processes and experiments, post processing, cleaning and maintaining lab space and equipment, etc.
  • Workcenter 2: Individuals in this position are expected to measure parts using a variety of manual and automated processes. Attention to detail and ability to spend hours collecting and entering data are a must. In addition to operation of measuring equipment, individuals will be responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance and troubleshooting equipment failures to root cause. The primary responsibility of this individual is to run measuring processes. The secondary responsibility is to perform preventative maintenance and break-fix support of equipment. This will involve working with a team in order to resolve complex technical issues using a wide variety of technical skills, including running processes and experiments, post processing, cleaning and maintaining lab space and equipment, etc.
  • Workcenter 3: Individuals in this position are expected to perform a combination of the first two workcenters
  • Workcenter 4: Individuals in this position are expected to be a multi-disciplined engineering support technical resource for the operation, repair, and maintenance of ovens, furnaces, and related process support equipment sets, with an emphasis on safety. The primary responsibility of this individual is to run heat processes. The secondary responsibility is to perform preventative maintenance and break-fix support of equipment. This will involve working with a team in order to resolve complex technical issues using a wide variety of technical skills, including running processes and experiments, post processing, cleaning and maintaining lab space and equipment, etc.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate 3D printing equipment and support equipment
  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance, keep equipment clean and serviceable, and keep work area clean
  • Records and maintains a historically documented log of failures, repairs, and modifications performed on equipment sets.
  • Has the ability to use the following software packages, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook Exchange, Adobe Photoshop, Unix, Basic Visual, etc.
  • Maintains updated knowledge regarding new technologies, standards and implementation methods with respect to their impact on client’s products, processes, and services
  • Demonstrates a safety first behavior in the workplace at all times. Support and promote safe practices for using chemicals, tooling, and all related equipment. E
  • Assists with training on equipment sets to include documentation, theory of operation, daily maintenance, operation, and simple troubleshooting
  • Provides input to Engineering, Production, Facilities Maintenance, and equipment suppliers to coordinate equipment repairs, improvements, installations, and component ordering
  • Perform, maintain, and setup computer systems to control equipment sets according to specified configuration requirements for both hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot computer setups and installation of operating systems
  •  Safety Leadership – Compliance with, and adherence to, client’s Safety standards and procedures
