Position Overview:
  • The candidate will be assisting with the processes surrounding the production, accuracy and analysis of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) reporting, accounts payable and expense functions.
  • This position is also responsible for the accounting of intercompany receivables/payables.
  • The candidate will assist in effectively maintaining existing processes and adhere to timelines established for IFRS & Local Statutory reporting, all ancillary schedules and AdHoc requests.
  • This position requires the handling of multiple tasks simultaneously, formulating positions on accounting issues and adhering to strict timelines.
  • The candidate must have excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • The candidate will strictly guard all sensitive information conveyed to them while carrying out the duties of the job.
  • Supporting IFRS and Local Statutory financial reporting functions
  • Preparing quarterly intercompany billings settlement and receipts
  • Preparing and uploading journal entries to the general ledger (SAP)
  • Preparing account reconciliations for both balance sheet and certain expense/revenue accounts
  • Clearing receipts in bank clearing account by journalizing to designated suspense accounts
  • Assisting with filing unclaimed property
  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining a high level of internal controls preserving clean audit opinions and tri-annual state examinations
  • Ability to work on special projects and hands-on ad hoc requests outside the day- to-day operations
  • Excellent organization skills relating to filing & record keeping
  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in P&C insurance industry.
  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance.
  • Working knowledge of a major general ledger system, preferably SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills.
