  • Performs patient care activities such as triage, counseling, patient education, sick or emergency visits, first aid, and other activities as needed or directed
  • Provides preventive medicine and wellness services and counseling. Supports site health promotion and disease prevention programs
  • Conducts medical surveillance and new hire activities
  • Provides care for patients with occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Develops and updates clinical and operational procedures and protocols
  • Documents patient data in paper and electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols
  • Participates on site, regional or global committees/sub-teams as assigned
  • Conducts medical surveillance including spirometry, audiometric testing, vision testing, throat cultures, EKGs, and respirator fit testing
  • Performs routine or specialized procedures such as venipuncture and drug screens
  • Assesses injuries, performs first aid, cleanses and dresses wounds
  • Flushes eyes and ears
  • Identifies candidates for research support program, sets up clinical protocols, collects tissue, blood or other samples per clinical study protocol to provide scientists with accurate fresh specimens while maintaining the scope of the project and patient confidentiality- also enters participant information into payment system and tracks volunteer frequency of the program

  • RN Board Certification
  • COHN-S preferred
  • Suggest a minimum of 5 years experience as an OHW professional
  • Demonstrates experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults
  • Proficiency in use of electronic medical record keeping systems desirable
  • Suggest a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Previous Occupational Health Experience
  • Completed and passed a certified Medical Assistant/Medical Technician program
  • Phlebotomy certified
  • Adept knowledge of medical terminology
  • Vaccine administration
  • Knowledge of how to care of medical emergencies of Chemical or biological hazard exposures
