Position Overview:
  • Provide expert telecommunications consulting within the organization
  • Interpret business requirements into technical network solutions framework
  • Provide networking-specific technology roadmaps governed by the overall strategic direction and enterprise roadmap, business requirements, and resourcing and financial constraints
  • Liaise with domain, solutions, and enterprise architects to ensure alignment across technology portfolios
  • Provide technical direction and frameworks to meet business needs
  • Provide expert consultation for major network initiatives or incidents
  • Produce and/or endorse network standards
  • Provide advice and recommendations specific to customer requirements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies against business and IT strategic needs
  • Serve as a key representative on major network initiatives
  • Create, update, and maintain networking standards and guidelines
  • Review the feasibility of new and existing IT projects
  • Write technical and business documentation
  • Lead high level scoping and costing activities
  • Guide and influence team members and business colleagues
  • Create presentations/solutions and articulate plans to stakeholders
  • Work with other SMEs and technical support teams in the pursuit of technically excellent solutions
  • Produce technically excellent solutions architecture that is aligned to business needs and direction
  • Review and evaluate disaster recovery strategies
  • Review designs for standards compliance, architecture compliance and negotiate implementation timeframes
  • Work with the network operations and project delivery teams to promote network standards and compliance
  • Collaborate with business users, technical staff and management to define business and technical requirements
  • Research, evaluate and approve vendor services and solutions
  • Partners closely with enterprise, infrastructure, and solutions architects - particularly within architecture reviews

  • At least 12 years of applied networking experience, with at least 5 at an architect level

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
  • CCIE in Routing and Switching
  • TOGAF 9.1 certification
  • COBIT certification
  • ITIL certification
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as Splunk, Solar Winds SCOM and Net
  • Cloud (private, hybrid, public) experience
  • Experience with Cisco

Required Experience:
  • Demonstrable design experience in Citrix and Sliver peak SD-WAN technologies
  • Demonstrable high availability design experience in designing
  • Should have experience with architecture and implementations of solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing plans, site2site VPNs, FWs, IPsec, monitoring, etc.
  • Experience providing strategic insight
  • Experience leading others

Required Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of protocols including MPLS, BGP, , OSPF, and EIGRP
  • Advanced knowledge of tunneling protocols including IPSEC, GRE, L2TPv3
  • Knowledge of high availability protocols such as VRRP, HSRP, LACP, PAGP
  • Knowledge and experience in managing Cisco Nexus 7k/5k/2k, Cisco firewalls, ASR Routers, Cisco Switches, SSL-VPN, authentication servers, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • Advanced knowledge of network virtualization technologies including MPLS and VRF
  • Advanced knowledge of routing and switching technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality of Service
  • LAN/WAN/DC networks across multiple geo locations
  • Advanced knowledge of network diagramming and Microsoft Visio
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
