|Eclaro International is currently recruiting for Network Architect CCIE for one of our financial services clients.|
Directs, manages, plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of the Systems Engineering section. Supports multiple systems through maintenance, modification, problem resolution, etc. to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations. Manages multiple applications/development projects, or single major complex initiatives if a small area of the development function. Coordinates resources across various applications, operations or projects. Responsible for staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making. Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Provides input on policy issues. Typically 7-10 years of experience in managing and directing multi-project development teams
Define Client's global network architecture, recommending and validating new technologies, and ensuring that the end to end strategy aligns to business goals.
InnovationContinually monitor and remain up to date on:
Industry advances in technology, standards and design models
the proprietary supplier landscape for new products and services
the open source alternatives to current and proposed proprietary products
Build and maintain an innovation pipeline so that we are able to rapidly take advantage of new opportunities, and limit vendor lock-in by not waiting until we are up against contract renewals and 'end of service' deadlines before we act.
Select promising new solutions for evaluation and gain agreement from Product on moving to POC
Lead the design, build and evaluation of new solutions via POC implementations.
Document the pipeline: share key advances in knowledge and the results of POC evaluations with Product Management and the rest of department.
Business Needs and Business Value
Partner with other technology teams, both vertically across the infrastructure stack (server, storage, etc), and horizontally across the various Line of Business applications (Consumer, Global Markets, etc.), to define network and security requirements which our architecture will be required to meet.
Engage global policy teams responsible for Information Security and Regulatory Compliance to define network and security requirements which our architecture will be required to meet.
Work together with the operations and implementation teams to identify opportunities to enhance productivity by automating work effort and minimizing resource consumption within network services.
Work together with Product Management to help them build business cases for technology investment: select from the innovation pipeline those new solutions and high level designs which will yield the lowest long term sustainable costs consistent with the minimum service levels for the defined business needs.
Define specific deliverables which can be measured and which directly lead to the cost or risk reduction commitments of the business cases. The collection of these outcomes and their committed dates will form our strategic technical roadmap.
Develop and Maintain Standards and High Level Design Documentation
Organize, audit and maintain architectural standards documentation for current existing environment.
Develop and distribute architectural standards documentation for changes to the existing architecture.
Organize, audit and maintain the library of High Level designs available to the Engineering and Implementation teams for use in response to ongoing business demands.
Develop the High Level Designs for new services and major changes to existing services, covering the utility & warranty of the service (e.g. infrastructure, applications, supporting tools, processes, organizational change, etc.). Include design of Early Life Support period (e.g. duration, entry & exit criteria to be incorporated in Service Acceptance Criteria).
Define and gain consensus on criteria for certification of new products and new designs based on associated risk and mitigation profiles: How - paper evaluation, third party certification, vendor labs, internal labs; What ? which features, configurations, and type of simulation/stress testing.
Applies to: new code, new hardware, new features, new designs.
Technology Lifecycle Management
Represent service architecture and own the architecture specific technical artifacts required for the different tollgates in the Network Services Product & Architecture Review Board (Permit to Define/Build/Operate/Retire).
Represent Network Services for decisions in the EARC forum (Enterprise Architecture Roadmapping and Classification) related to all changes in Technology Classification, whether introducing something new, or declaring an existing product as 'non-permitted'.
Represent Network Services architecture in cross-silo Centers of Excellence (COE) and act as an advocate within GT&O for commonality and end to end efficiency.
Ensure there are no inconsistencies or contradictions between Network Services solutions and those sponsored by the other silos within Global Technology and Operations. Provide documentary evidence of end to end strategic interoperability and synergy for all new solutions.
The qualifications for the role are necessarily demanding. Successful candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of network and security technologies and commitment to life-long learning through achievement of professional certifications.
? Network architects must have CCIE Switching & Routing certification as a minimum
? Possess a minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related field. A master's degree or PhD is preferred.
? 15+ Years of experience in general networking and/or security infrastructure.
? 10+ deep technical experience working on IPAM environments.
? Thorough understanding of DHCP, DNS, IP Addressing and Time Services
· High degree of experience in the day to day configuration and Sr. level troubleshooting of IPAM DHCP, DNS, and DDNS
? Experience with integration of DNS and DHCP in Active Directory environment
? Knowledge of F5 3DNS and GTM
? IPAM knowledge of:
o Thorough understanding of VitalQIP
o Creating & modifying DNS zone files manually (forward and reverse zones)
? Knowledge of Infoblox
? DNS Anycast
? Time Services knowledge of NTP and PTP
? High degree of experience in using IPv4 & IPv6
? Test tool experience, e.g. Ixia, iperf/netperf
? Technical skills in some variant of each of the following:
o Automation Frameworks (Jenkins, Rundeck, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc)
o Data Description: JSon, XML, Yang, etc
o Coding: Python, Perl, Java, etc
? Demonstrated experience leading at least one project delivering some aspect of network services automation
? Test tool experience, e.g. Ixia, iperf/netperf
? Must be able to assist in resolution of complex issues during high pressure situations
? Must be able to communicate with a wide range of staff, from technology implementation through senior management levels
? Capable of quickly learning new technologies and procedures, as well as being willing to train others in procedures mastered as part of implementations
? Proven ability to understand business requirements as supported by technology.
? Ability to explain and communicate the value of complex technology solutions to differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.
? Experience with initiatives that fulfill audit and compliance requirements common to the Financial Services industry.
