Position Overview:

  • Supports EHS Manager and assists with the management of all life safety programs at the site.


  • Review status of all fire and life safety programs in accordance with client Fire & Building Code, NFPA standards, and OSHA safety and health regulations and recommend changes and improvements.
  • Conduct routine building inspections to ensure compliance with life safety and fire codes.
  • Act as the liaison for client Office of Fire Prevention and Control and Fire Inspections. Responsible for facilitating corrective actions and follow-up for any findings (work orders, quotes for service from appropriate vendors).
  • Responsible for conducting quarterly/annual fire drills and facilitate corrective actions for any findings.
  • Assists in the tracking of fire impairments and is the liaison between Risk Management and the site.
  • Collaborates with the local fire department/county emergency services for emergency preparedness and response.
  • Solicits and evaluates competitive bids for fire alarm, sprinkler, pump maintenance quarterly/annual maintenance and testing and annual fire extinguisher, SCBA inspections, rolling fire doors, and elevators/escalators.
  • Coordinates and schedules selected vendor maintenance and testing for the following life safety inspections: fire alarms, fire suppression systems, fire pumps, annual fire extinguisher, AED and SCBA inspections, rolling fire door, elevators, and escalators.
  • Manages corrective actions and follow-up for weekly/monthly/annual life safety inspections.
  • Serves as client's technical expert or Fire Life Safety issues.
  • Responds to fire alarm activations and other emergencies.
  • Ensures individuals who require the knowledge to use fire extinguishers (e.g., hot work fire watch, Operators, Security Guards) receive appropriate fire safety training.
  • Assist Security, Electrical, and Operation Departments with monthly Life Safety Inspections (Security - AEDs, First Aid Kits, SCBAs, Fire Extinguishers; Electrical Departments - Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm Panels; Operations - Emergency Generators) and audits inspections for completeness.


  • Knowledge, training, and experience in NFPA Codes and Standards, Life Safety Codes, fire alarm and fire protection systems, fire service administration, code enforcement and emergency response.
  • Ability to communicate complex regulations and related EHS programs to management and staff is required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong writing skills are required.
