Position Overview:
  • Thorough knowledge of required job skills in equipment operation and process glassware is expected
  • This position involves working in a high pace GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) laboratory
  • Majority of time is spent in the lab processing glassware and autoclaved items for on site development, clinical and commercial quality groups
  • Work is completed following routine laboratory procedures and established SOPs
  • The candidate will independently perform routine and non-routine tasks and solve most problems with moderate guidance from Supervisor or designee
  • The candidate will be accountable for adhering to standards, guidelines and values
 
Responsibilities:
  • Glassware processing
    • Process glassware following defined SOPs. Tasks include the following processes: pick up dirty glassware, manual wash and processing through glass-washer, and dryer
    • Clean glassware wrapped and delivered to customers
    • Processes also involve autoclaving of glassware
    • Effectiveness of operation in Glassware facility requires strong technical skills on equipment operation and facility flow
    • Per SOP performs proper handling of chemicals and utilizes proper safety precautions
    • Operates and maintains related equipment following established SOPs.
    • Exhibits ability to identify technical problems and to relay them to supervisor
    • Begins to develop problem-solving skill
    • Answers general questions posed by customers
    • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facility. This includes (but is not limited to) periodic cleaning of glass-washer and autoclave
  • Laboratory Documentation/Data Analysis
    • Perform data entry and basic analysis of laboratory data. Assure proper documentation on procedures and equipment functions. May participate in documentation review
    • May be asked to provide input and assist in the revision of documentation such as SOPs, training materials and safety modules. Work to understand the criticality of consistency as well as the balance between safety, quality, compliance and efficiency.
    • May cross-train in other areas to meet the business need
    • May provide training to junior staff
  • Additional Expectations
    • Participate in the on-call program for critical QC equipment providing 24 hour coverage in the event that a unit fails
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/2+ years of equivalent experience/education
  • Good organizational, communication skills
  • GMP lab experience
  • GMP documentation
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in GMP environment
  • Biotech certification
