Our client is seeking an experienced Java / Cobol Developer with work experience in JAVA environment who also possesses the soft skills and business savvy.
PME (Product Master Environment) is the firm-wide provider of product & pricing reference data to over 400+ consuming applications spanning multiple lines of business (Global Markets, Global Wealth & Investment Management, etc.) from the front office (trading apps, etc.) to the back office. PME is positioned within the broader Global Markets Reference Data Organization which also includes Party, Client Account and Firm Account reference data. PME is looking to hire an application developer to work on its PME/SMDB mainframe and JAVA product reference platform. The SMDB application supports a US Product Reference Database which acts as a PME distribution engine primarily supporting the product data needs of GWIM as well as the firm's post-trade applications.

  • Responsible for analysis, programming and implementation of changes in mainframe and JAVA based applications.

  • Minimum of 8-10 Years of programming experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and Online/Batch programming.
  • Working experience with JAVA, IBM WebSphere, Shell scripting, UNIX and Oracle.
  • Strong DB2 skills
  • Programming experience with IBM MQ.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible, self-starter, willing and able to quickly learn new technologies and skills and work effectively within a dynamic, collaborative organization
  • Prior experience in technical team leadership is a plus

  • Experience in the Financial Sector is highly preferred
