Derivative and Derivatives Collateral Controller

  • Controller for derivatives and derivative collateral responsible for disclosures, netting and day to day reporting including:
    • Ensure accurate and complete recording of collateral transaction for stand-alone financials and top-of-house reporting and impact to FIN 39 netting results
    • Month-end close, incl. journal entry preparation, monthly financial variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of account fluctuations
    • Derivative disclosures impacting 10Q/10K and other regulatory filings (i.e. call report)
    • Accounts reconciliation and substantiation
    • Suspense monitoring & resolution
    • Coordinate SOX Map walk-throughs and support quarterly/year-end audit inquiries
    • Assessing impact of CCP rule book changes on collateral/netting process for stand-alone financials and Top-of-house reporting
    • Analyze current processes and make recommendations for process improvement
    • Strong analytical & communication skills
Required Skills:
  • 6-10 years of Accounting and/or Financial Services Experience
  • 3-5 years of product-specific experience
  • Knowledge of LOB Systems, Reg W, SOX, SAP, Oracle
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Ability to identify and implement business process improvements
  • Ability to translate complex issues into simple terms
  • Ability to step in and provide leadership across peers consistently
  • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to coordinate and review multiple tasks and deliverables to flawless execution
  • Builds partnerships with team and stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
