Position Overview:
  • As an Operations Officer for DWS Investment Operations, you'll be a leader as part of the Data Quality Management team and focus on efficiency and teamwork. To drive improvement, you'll foster the sharing of knowledge between functional teams, while building and managing relationships at all levels and developing your knowledge of a wide range of banking products. Simply put, it's a role that's essential to getting business done in the best way possible and consistently delivering first-class client experiences.
  • The DQM (Data Quality Management) Oversight Representative is responsible for managing the quality, integrity and validity of security, pricing and analytics data for asset management. The data management specialist is considered an escalation point who is responsible for accuracy of Security Master data, pricing and those market data feeds/factors impacting analytics (Yield, Duration, and Convexity). The Oversight rep will work closely with the DQM offshore team to proactively oversee Run the Bank (RTB) data management processing activities and spearhead Change the bank (CTB) projects.
  • The Data Management team provides technical advice/support to both the business and internal stakeholders that includes the identification and resolution of data quality issues. The Oversight team acts as a key point of contact for liaising and consulting with stakeholders to ensure data integrity issues are effectively escalated and resolved in an efficient manner. The team is expected to address all facets of the security set-up process and recognize the downstream impacts when changes are made (across multiple asset classes).
  • The team is exposed to many financial products which includes Equities, Fixed Income (MBS, ABS, Corporate, Municipals), Derivatives (Swaps, Options, Futures), and Cash (CP, CD, TD, Repos). The team is responsible for maintaining Security Master and updating pricing using authoritative market data sources; validating security set-ups for accuracy and working with various operational teams (Transaction Processing Group security trade related issues, Reconciliations cash break resolution and Client Onboarding team in-kind asset transfers) as well as external vendors, market data sources and IT teams to investigate, understand and remediate root cause.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years in the buy side financial industry (asset management, private banking)
  • Ability to lead/guide through issues and mentor offshore teams during time sensitive and high pressure activities
  • Understanding of Security Master Data and the impact of that data on Pricing and Analytics. Ability to collect necessary back-up prior to requesting authorization to update database
  • Identify processes for continuous data quality improvement, proactively track multiple data related issues Hands on experience utilizing Bloomberg and Reuters
  • Experience with portfolio, trading platforms (Aladdin) as well as excellent understanding of life cycle of a trade
  • Strong experience in Data Quality, identifying issues and perform root cause analysis. Escalate with management in the event processing or control gaps
  • Subject matter expert for Data Management complex issues. Ability to make recommendations in efforts of creating processing efficiencies
  • Ensure tasks are followed according to Operating Procedures and provide support to offshore teams.
  • Act as escalation point for Front Office queries - Pricing and Data related issues and ensure issues are addressed in timely manner by Offshore functional processing teams
  • Detailed understanding of Pricing and Analytics across multiple asset classes
