Position : Data Analyst
Location : East Syracuse, NY
Duration : 6 months (Possible for extension or permanency)

Job Description:
The primary role of the position is to support quality control analytical method performance monitoring and investigations by applying statistical process methodology. This position will also be involved with leaning process improvements for these activities and fulfilling data requests for analytical data to support the network monitoring processes. This position requires collaboration with quality control laboratory subject matters experts and network support colleagues.
The successful candidate will:
  • Provide support for performance data and trending and data/statistical analysis of method performance data as part of the Syracuse Quality Control Method Performance & Data Trending Team (MPDT).
  • Support system administration validation/verification activities of the Biovia systems (PRIMR, Discoverant, LES).
  • Support optimization and standardization of analytical method performance data assessments and trending capabilities using SAS, JMP, Discoverant, and Analytical Data Mining Tool (ADMT)
  • Collaborate with various functional area with the Client network
  • Support data assessments and evaluation, and compilation/ verification activities using LIMS, Discoverant and ADMT applications.
  • Support standardization of method performance investigation process.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with the use of and/or scripting of various statistical applications: JMP/SAS and Discoverant preferred.
  • Experienced in statistical data analysis using statistical applications (i.e. EXCEL, JMP, SAS, Biovia Discoverant)
  • Minimum 1 year experience with SampleManager LIMS system preferably in a pharmaceutical setting preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of cGMP compliance and laboratory documentation procedures (e.g., good documentation practices, SOP's, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: this position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams within Client network strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrates organizational, well developed attention to detail, and time management skills.
Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific, computer, or statistics program with at least 1-3 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Demands:
This is an office-based position that routinely requires sitting extended periods of time to carry out a variety of both manual and computerized data entry and processing activities. Repetitive arm, hand and finger movements are constant in regards to data entry/ processing, and report writing tasks. There will be occasional to frequent use of hand-held devices such as writing utensils, calculators, etc. Occasional standing and walking about the office is required. Lifting, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, kneeling, reaching, or climbing is not a significant component of the job.
