Position Overview:
  • The candidate will have a proven track record as an information architect in a large customer centric organization and be comfortable working with senior leadership in IT and business operations.
  • The position is within the Customer Data and Business Systems group which has responsibility for data strategy, data governance and compliance for the customer data domain.
  • Documents the Customer Information reference architecture, including guidelines and standards for designing and developing target state information management capabilities
  • Provides an assessment of current state information architecture and recommendation of future state, and information management perspectives
  • Reviews and approves data model designs with a focus on those areas influencing interoperability, analytics including compliance with the enterprise information model
  • Communicates and coordinates with other business areas/domains and IT teams regarding processes, standards, and best practices for customer data
  • Represents the customer data domain on all projects creating, consuming or modifying customer data
  • Consolidates a business view of customer data across the functions; aligns the data strategy with organization goals
  • Provides leadership, mentorship and advisory services to business, IT and project teams to ensure that solutions are in line with the information architecture direction and support customer business strategies
  • Provides technical guidance and identifies architectural risks; plans to mitigate risks, adheres to standards and best practices regarding customer data
  • Confirms regulatory issues are considered surrounding information assets (such as consumer privacy laws, data retention policies, data sharing)
  • Monitors data quality, systems usage, and takes corrective and enhancement actions as necessary
  • Builds data governance and life cycle management into target architecture
  • Leads Customers business area in enterprise-wide technical and business discussions relative to future data requirements
  • Works collaboratively across the enterprise and Customer business area to drive adoption of technical standards, design principles and architecture patterns in information management functional areas
  • Collaborates in defining solution architecture for Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Authors reference architectures and positions that support the design, deployment and support of customer data
  • Influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior business management
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of new data management technology tools and trends, and applies that knowledge to information architecture designs
  • Collaborate with business, and IT to identify opportunities for innovation and automation
  • Uses independent research and analysis of industry and technology trends, provides actionable ideas for innovation and business capability development
  • Collaborates with other IT teams in the management of technical change, verification of testing results, and monitoring of technical standards compliance and deployment
  • Develop information management Architecture documents / artifacts from templates working with extended IT and Business teams
  • Coordinates new development activities and ensures they are consistent and well-integrated with the established enterprise information architecture, using metadata management and/or a repository to promote reuse and standards adoption
  • Adheres to applicable regulations surrounding information assets; Creates a framework for representing the data elements; analyzes, designs, and develops roadmaps and implementation plans
  • Implements data design and transformation procedures; resolves conflicts between data models
  • Assesses business needs and establish business priorities by consulting and collaborate with multiple IT teams and business leaders
  • Reviews and approves the organizational requirements and changes necessary to support initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Experienced in Customer business domain modeling; logical and physical relational data modeling/design
  • Experienced in ensuring that Customer Domain data models, key program processes and key data entities are consistent with the enterprise model (e.g.: entity names, relationships and definitions)
  • Experienced in Data mappings of application interfaces and data models; and Information architecture models (e.g., conceptual, logical, canonical)
  • Experienced in Information architecture standards and methodologies, roadmaps analysis, design, implementation, structures and cultural changes necessary to support initiatives
  • Experienced in business process flows, use cases, guidelines and standards for cataloging and maintaining data repositories
  • Experienced in data design and transformation procedures, data mapping, data models, associated metadata models, common business vocabulary, taxonomies, single source data strategy
  • Experienced in analysis, design, and development of a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current versus future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint, specialized architecture governance processes
  • Experienced in data analysis and facilitation, i.e., able to produce data designs using a variety of inputs such as requirements analysis, SME interviews, business process and data flow analysis, data profiling, etc.
  • Experienced in applying enterprise data management policies, standards, guidelines and procedures pertaining to information architecture; and monitoring of technical standards compliance and deployment
  • Experienced in working with data mapping and contributing to logical data model for data warehousing and ensuring data available for downstream consumption
  • Extensive experience with data integration, data warehousing and analytics solutions
  • Also, extensive knowledge in both structured and non-structured data management
  • Experienced in influencing strategic architecture direction, framing reference architectures, specifying policies and standards, drive consensus on target state architectures, and influence roadmaps
  • Wide knowledge of architecture standards and patterns, a passion for advocating their correct usage
  • Experience with ERwin or similar data modeling tools, ETL tools and related integration technologies
  • Experience with DB2, Oracle, Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server, as well as familiarity with ETL and data profiling tools
  • Knowledgeable about Business Intelligence tools, such as Business Objects, Tableau, SAS, etc. and their appropriate use in solutions for diverse business requirements
  • Understand data retention and audit requirements and their impact on enterprise information architecture
  • Experience working within agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and patterns to migrate to the cloud
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day direction
  • Ability to focus on a wide range of loosely defined complex situations with minimal supervision
  • High level organizational and project management skills to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner with extensive collaboration and social skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities given aggressive timelines; comfortable performing in a fast paced, dynamic and ambiguous business environment
  • Ability to lead technical and business discussions; coordinate development activities to ensure consistency and integration
  • Minimally experienced in Consumer privacy laws, data retention policies, and specific industry guidelines
