Responsibilities:
  • Triage incoming claims information reported through the electronic mailbox and escalate them to the proper claim professionals
  • Manage claims within authority effectively from beginning to end with continued assessment of quantum of claim and
  • Review and assess legal opinions and claim updates and continued assessment of Triage rules and guidelines
  • Review of policy language in order to identify covered claims and referral to senior claims team members where required
  • Manage diary and request update information
  • Establish and provide other input services of precautionary claim files as required
  • Assist in the coordination of regulatory data calls for all direct claim departments and work with the MGA Program Business claims team and the Legal Department to facilitate the submission of data to regulatory agencies in a timely and accurate manner as necessary
  • Serve as point person for processing claim payments accurately and timely as directed.
  • Assist in the updating and accuracy checking of claim data as part of the quarter close process (data analysis and data entry)
  • Support the claims professionals in the ongoing reporting responsibilities to both claims and underwriting senior management
  • Input tracking data into spreadsheets relating to homebuilder claims
  • Assist with ad hoc department projects 
Qualifications:
  • College graduate preferred
  • Two plus years of claims experience with an insurance or reinsurance company preferred
  • Familiarity with excess layer insurance or reinsurance claim department operations a plus
  • Proven administrative experience
  • Must be able to work independently yet thrive within a team environment
  • Knowledge and proficiency of office management systems and procedures, including MS Office
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Good organizational skills including the ability to handle a large volume of work
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working in P&C claims
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills
  • Access database skills a plus
