Position Overview:
  • A R&D Technician/Research Associate for the Membrane Product Development Group within the client’s Filtration R&D Organization.
  • As part of the Research and Development organization, will be working closely with senior scientists and assist them in the development of new chemical surface treatments for membranes used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams.
  • Requires a diligent, independent associate with strong laboratory skills in handing organic chemicals and hands-on working experience with chemical solutions & processes in the wet laboratory atmosphere.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Expertly performing a wide variety of experimental tasks in the chemical laboratory under limited supervision
  • Maintaining quality records of experimental procedures and adhering to laboratory notebook policies
  • Writing experimental reports, summaries and protocols as needed.
  • Maintaining R&D space clean and orderly
  • Communicating well and clearly to supervisor in a timely fashion
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies
  • Working compliant with all applicable regulations and EHS guidelines for chemical storage, working with hazardous chemicals, and general lab safety.
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with 7-10 yrs work experience in the chemical laboratory.
  • Associates degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or 2+yrs work experience in the chemical laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience with chemicals and awareness of proper PPE use in the chemical laboratory.
  • Experience in preparing chemical solutions/formulations, conducting chemical processes and handling laboratory equipment.
  • Prior experience in surface modification/membrane chemistry area is a plus
