Position Overview:
  • As part of the Quality Control Analytical group, the individual will be conducting assay development, optimization and validation activities for cell-based and direct binding potency assays.
  • Responsibilities include experimental design, execution, and data analysis of bioassays, under the supervision of a technical leader.
  • Once the assays are developed, the individual will execute method validation studies and support the use of the methods in GMP testing.
  • In addition, the individual will contribute to routine bioassay testing for drug product release and analytical method transfer efforts.
  • Execute experiments to develop and optimize bioassays including cell-based assays and immunoassays.
  • Conduct validation studies to demonstrate assay suitability for analysis of drug substance or drug product in a commercial QC environment.
  • Perform routine bioassay testing in support of release and stability monitoring of drug substance or drug product.
  • Improve assays to detect host cell residuals and impurities using ELISA techniques.
  • Author test methods and relevant technical documents using the client document workflow.
  • Review data and technical documents for compliance and accuracy.
  • Author documents for technology transfers, change controls and regulatory submissions.
  • Strong knowledge in cell biology and biochemistry, especially in cell-based assay
  • Hands-on experience with diverse analytical techniques used in bioassays
  • Methodical and committed to high-quality results
  • Strong scientific, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prior experience with liquid handling and automation platforms would be advantageous
  • Experience in bioassay development, method transfer, and method validation would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practice (GMP) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience, Master’s degree with 8 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience
    • Critical project

    • Jump right in, go getter, self-motivator, highly motivated, team player
    • Elisa experience, Growing Cells, Cell plating, cell biology exp. = must
    • Cell based assays, cell biology = must
    • GMP knowledge/ experience.
    • Be able to follow GMP rules and regulations.
    • Good documentation, very detailed oriented= must
