  • Develop, optimize, validate, and perform biomarker assays in support of clinical trials
  • Support lead Biomarker Assay Scientist in the development, optimization, and validation of biomarker assays
  • Prepare validation samples, quality control samples, and required reagents
  • Blood and tissue handling in a BSL2 laboratory
  • Properly operate and maintain laboratory equipment to include monthly calibration checks
  • Perform ELISA and other plate-based assay formats based on absorbance, fluorescence, and/or electrochemiluminescence
  • Perform flow-cytometry-based assays and acquire data using Client FACSDiva software
  • Validate analysis templates using Microsoft Excel and XLFit
  • Analyze, summarize, document, and review experimental results
  • Work in compliance with all GCP regulations to support clinical trials hosted at the New Haven Clinical Research Unit and at external sites
  • Perform data entry and track sample lifecycle within laboratory information management systems such as Cerner Millennium
  • Draft and/or review documents to include: SOPs, work instructions, assay checksheets, validation plans and reports, clinical study plans and reports
  • Support Biomarker Lead to train other Biomarker Assay Scientists on all aspects of biomarker analysis
Required Qualifications:
  • Have a firm understanding of assay performance parameters and validation methods
  • Good documentation practices to include use of IDBS E-Workbook electronic laboratory notebook application
  • Team player with positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Assay experience
  • Experience/knowledge in databases, spreadsheets, Excel, electronic notebook
  • BLS certified for site requirements
