Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of Client Asset Protection requirements for in scope regulations in the US, namely SEC 15c3-3 regulations and CFTC regulations
  • Management of 15c3-3 Possession or Control calculations / CFTC FCM client protection calculations for 3 U.S. broker-dealers/FCMs, as well as management of specific Prime Brokerage re-hypothecation related processes and controls for the U.S. broker-dealers
  • Management and preparation of the client asset protection governance processes, which includes monthly senior Client Asset Governance meeting as well as updates to specific legal entity Boards, GBAM Operations risk and business review meetings
  • Management of internal and external audit and regulatory reviews as well as monitoring any audit issues raised for the CACG group or across the Firm related to Customer Asset protection. In this capacity there will be regular interaction with multiple regulators and the Firms external auditors PWC
  • Management of the Client Asset incident management processes, including the evaluation and tracking of incidents raised in operations and other support functions and business and proactive management of any day to day issues e.g. system outages impacting the CACG processes
 
Required Experience:
  • Regulatory awareness – A strong regulatory understanding of the 15c3-3 and/or CFTC regulations in the US as they impact a broker dealer environment
  • Broker-dealer experience – previous experience in a major US broker dealer, either in a Regulatory role, operations role or business role
  • Product experience – General knowledge across all operations product processes and control environment. Detailed knowledge of securities product including operation of markets and settlement in a Client
  • Experience of identifying and managing risk, control and regulatory issues including experience of interaction with internal and external regulators and audit

  • A strong ability to influence across a large organization and interact with senior management within Business, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance partners
  • Strong communicator both written and verbal. An ability to 'translate' and explain complex regulations and their applicability to in scope processes
  • Analysis skills (data and process) - Ability to analyses control process to identify key issues and determine impact
  • Influence - Ability to influence outside of direct team to facilitate changes to control and regulatory environment
  • Organizational Skills - Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills to support client money and transaction reporting oversight groups
  • Communication - Ability to deal and communicate at all levels within the organization. Advanced written, verbal and presentational skills
  • Execution - Anticipates risks and obstacles and devises plans to manage. Puts processes in place to ensure that the business meets regulatory requirements
