Senior Accountant

Excel in the Financial Services Industry. Eclaro is looking for a Senior Accountant for our client in New York, NY!

The Senior Accountant will be reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be responsible for various roles within an in-house financial division, including statutory financial statement preparation, Ceded Reinsurance Accounting, journal entry monitoring, technical accounting analysis, and special projects on process improvement. You will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel, including other financial professionals, divisional leadership, and functional staff to prepare and interpret financial data and operational performance.

Generate various financial statements
Handle Ceded Reinsurance Accounting (quota-share, XOL)
Lead projects that will improve efficiency and performance of the Company
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
Perform financial and operational audits
Analyze technical accounting topics and propose conclusions
Perform compilation of the quarterly and annual budgeting analyses
Review selected account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
Prepare and file supplemental regulatory schedules
Assist in preparation of Schedule F and Schedule P for year-end closings
Perform miscellaneous accounting functions for various business units

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
· 5-7 years of accounting or financial reporting experience (in the P&C industry or at a firm that audits the P&C Industry)
· Insurance experience, preferably experience working with a P&C or A&H carrier
· Mastery of end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel/Word/Access)
· Auditing experience and CPA designation preferred
· Actuarial knowledge a plus
· Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and an ability to perform complex analyses
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
· Ability to identify priorities and manage time efficiently
· Ability to work effectively with all levels throughout a large organization
· Enthusiastic self-starter attitude
· Proven integrity and dedication
