Position Overview
The Regional Manager is the hands-on technical lead driving the success of company's overall IT operations for their assigned region through effective and efficient administration, management, maintenance, and deployment of IT systems. Working closely with the AVP of Regional Technology and the Technology Operations team, the RM will succeed by mastering company's full technology offering, being able to articulately explain technical options and solutions to the business, developing and maintaining positive relationships with offices in their designated region, working with team members to determine the direction of overall technology strategy, and contributing positively through open collaboration within the Infrastructure team, technology department and organization as a whole.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Systems Administration (50%)
Primary responsibility for daily implementation, administration and support of (tier 2) technical operations including:

  • Server hardware, software, and operating systems
  • LAN Switching and LAN/WAN Routing
  • Data Backup/Replication
  • Perimeter Security (firewall & IDS)
  • Network/Systems availability and performance monitoring
  • Server and workstation security updating and Antivirus
  • Server and workstation patch management
  • Execute approved change requests for all systems in scope
  • Develop and manage maintenance plans and schedules for all systems in scope
  • Manage and maintain documentation of all systems and processes in scope
  • Manage and maintain systems/network monitoring solutions, notification, and response
  • Plan, execute and maintain system security initiatives and the reporting of events relating to the security of the infrastructure

Project Management (25%)
Work closely with project managers to develop and execute plans by:
  • Understanding requirements of the business environment
  • Providing design assistance for deployments and upgrades of new and existing technology
  • Taking the lead on Region's technical infrastructure changes and new implementations, including the following:
  • Software/hardware changes and upgrades for file servers, application servers, networking systems, and workstations
  • Integration of legacy systems onto standard corporate platforms
  • Networked infrastructure with high availability services and SLAs
  • Implementation and maintenance of virtual servers
  • Implementation, maintenance and upgrades of VOIP systems
  • Surveying office locations to scope integration projects
  • Assessments of potential acquisition targets

Support (25%)
Understand issues and advocate for offices in scope by providing:
  • Provide (Tier 2) support for Business applications, infrastructure, network devices and monitor performance for reliability
  • Quickly Analyze system failures to minimize outages and interruptions and provide root cause analysis
  • Propose logical solutions to resolve business and technical issues

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies, grow with a dynamic team and ability to manage the implementation of new technology
  • Willingness to provide (on occasion) after-hours and weekend support for hardware/software upgrades or to meet other operational needs that cannot be accomplished during regular work hours
  • Strong commitment to upholding company's high ethical standards
  • 4 year undergraduate degree preferred

Technical Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in systems administration or consulting role in Microsoft/VMWare infrastructure
  • 3+ years' experience executing infrastructure projects as primary technical lead
  • 3+ years managing data backup and protection solutions
  • Proven success in hands on administration in a 300+ Windows based network environment
  • Experience in the following areas: MS Active Directory (AD administration, group policy, etc.), Windows Server Operating Systems, SQL 2005/2008/2012, Microsoft IIS, Cisco network products (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
  • Experience in hybrid cloud based file systems a plus
  • Strong experience deploying and managing VMWare ESX based Windows virtual servers
  • Experience in industry standard remote access solutions (VPN, SSL VPN, Citrix/Terminal Services)
  • SAN based storage, storage networking experience a plus
  • Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCDA), and VMWare (VI3) certifications a plus
