The Data Specialist for Global Collateral Operations is a technology role that will require strong technical (e.g. Python – Pandas Tableau, etc.) and analytical skills. In this position, you will work in conjunction with the Portfolio Reconciliations, Dispute Resolutions, and Collateral Margining teams to perform in-depth analysis of data and produce various reports and metrics. You will also help provide analysis for key initiatives on regulatory compliance, be accountable for various aspects of the reporting and analytics, including management of the control aspects of the reports, and work closely with multiple support groups and stakeholders, including the collateral operations and technology partners across the global regions. The Data Specialist will be the liaison with technology assisting with releases of enterprise applications including testing.

  • Work closely with OPUS team throughout the lifecycle of new feature development as well as issue/bug resolution and testing
  • Develop tactical automated MIS reporting
  • Transition all tactical development into strategic BRD and see through to production implementation
  • Perform in-depth analysis on sleeper collateral situations and separately on dispute impact to Margin Period of Risk to assist in risk assessment, MIS development, control and workflow recommendations

  • 7-10 years of experience in providing business analysis e.g. for audit, compliance, and metrics reporting
  • Ability to analyze and provide insights on large volumes of data (2+ million rows)
  • Strong technical skills, including:
o Proficiency in Python with working knowledge of scientific and numerical packages (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
o Proficiency in Excel
o Proficiency in VBA programming required with Access programming desired
o Working knowledge of SQL required
o Knowledge of Version Control desired
o Experience in shell scripting desired
o Experience with data visualization tools such as D3.js or Tableau desired
  • Ability to comfortably work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work effectively in global team environments
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk, Client Money Protection and Funding
  • Experience working in Financial Services, especially Investment Banking
  • Understanding of financial regulations including Basel and Dodd-Frank
  • Product Knowledge: Collateral Management
  • Knowledge of Middle Office and Back Office processing (trade capture, confirmation, settlements, lifecycle management, asset servicing)
